Editorial Assistant - Primary Education Cengage Learning is seeking to appoint an editorial assistant for its Primary editorial department in the Schools Division. The role requires a highly motivated, efficient and enthusiastic person to provide administrative and editorial support to the Primary editorial team.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: - the ability to prioritise tasks
- good computing and administrative skills
- a willingness to complete routine clerical tasks, and some editorial tasks
- a good eye for detail
- excellent written and spoken communication skills
- the ability to liaise with freelance contractors and authors
- the ability to work co-operatively with all in-house departments including sales, marketing, production and editorial.
This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to begin a career in editing in the education sector. As well as administrative assistance, you will be expected to provide editorial support and perform editorial duties, which may include editing, proof reading and assisting with photo shoots, compiling and managing reprint corrections and liaising with other departments. Graduate qualifications and previous experience in the book publishing industry will be well regarded but are not essential.

Reprint Controller – Media & Production Services Cengage Learning, one of Australia’s leading educational publishers, has an immediate opening for a fulltime position for a Reprint Controller working on our primary and secondary school titles, based in the Melbourne office.
Reporting to the Senior School and Export Reprint Controller in the Media and Production Services department, you will work closely with publishing, editorial, design, sales, customer service, offshore printers and other external suppliers. This role is responsible for managing the production of all reprints for our school division by creating and maintaining accurate schedules, costings, and project information, as well as conducting monthly reprint meetings.
The successful applicant must have a demonstrated, proficient use of Word and Excel, excellent communication and organisational skills, combined with careful attention to detail. Previous book and media publishing experience is preferred but not essential.
